Our program teaches interdisciplinary studies in science, social studies, literature, writing, engineering, foreign language, and art.
We are a thriving and established community of adults and children who learn and grow together.
We are a cooperative but not in the traditional sense. The directors create and implement the curriculum but we believe parental input and participation is essential to creating a thriving learning community. We all have different knowledge and talents that our children can benefit from and we ask our parents to assist in the classes, supervise free time, plan field trips and special events, and help keep our facility tidy.
We provide a custom designed curriculum that caters to a wide range of ages and abilities. Topics are revisited in new and creative ways to ensure high retention of core concepts. The curriculum is designed with the input of our students and families and is interactive and engaging, providing regular opportunities for hands-on learning.
We offer a core program that is science based with interdisciplinary connections in art, engineering, design, social studies, and language arts. We also offer optional classes in a variety of disciplines that can be taken alone or in conjunction with our core programming.
We meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Pittstown, NJ where we have full service indoor facilities and easy access to nature.
Non-participating siblings are welcome to attend but we ask that they are removed from the learning environment should they engage in any behavior that proves distracting.
